A lot to do

Beside launching our site Exit Yourstoryteller, I am most tempted to read these amazing books. Furthermore, I want also to listen to a special recording of Jordi Savall. Music of Islam. Want also reading a book about constructivism architecture in Bulgaria in the thirties to the fifties. More: a publication by Theo Niekus about street photography. Pfff…. But Eyemazing is the first one of all! Not forget MOMA Dolf!

RED WEALTH

SOVIET DESIGN 1950-1980

The exhibition ‘Red Wealth. Soviet Design 1950-1980' illustrates the history of Soviet design in a fascinating overview. Consumer culture was a stranger to communism until the 1950s. This started changing in 1959 when an exhibition in Moscow presented the ‘American Way of Living’. As an abundance of goods arrived from the capitalist market, the memorable Kitchen Debate was taking place between Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev and President Richard Nixon, and the arms race was augmented on the spot with competition in terms of wealth. Over 360 objects highlight the best examples of Soviet design, from charming retro products and graphic designs to prototypes that represent a systematic, functional and social approach to design. Read more: @ LINK kunsthal

the Brooklyn Museum

Agitprop! now
@ Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, 4th Floor

At key moments in history, artists have reached beyond galleries and museums, using their work as a call to action to create political and social change. For the past hundred years, the term agitprop, a combination of agitation and propaganda, has directly reflected the intent of this work. Agitprop! connects contemporary art devoted to social change with historic moments in creative activism, highlighting activities that seek to motivate broad and diverse publics. Exploring the complexity, range, and impact of these artistic practices is including photography, film, prints, banners, street actions, songs, digital files, and web platforms-the exhibition expands over its run within a unique and dynamic framework. It opens with works by twenty contemporary artists responding to urgent issues of the day, in dialogue with five historical case studies. In the following months, two more waves of contemporary work are being added-on February 17 and April 6, 2016-with each wave of artists choosing those in the next. LINK Brooklyn Museum
